Many people in India have savings accounts with the post office, as it is considered one of the most secure places to save money. If you are one of these individuals and want to know how to check your post office savings account balance, read on.
To keep track of your finances, it is important to check your account balance regularly. There are 7 different ways to do this for your post office savings account:
1. Online Banking: Register for the online banking service at your home branch by filling out a form and submitting the required documents. Once registered, download the DOP mobile banking app, activate internet banking, and enter your user ID, password, and registered mobile number. After verifying your information, you can easily check your account balance online.
2. SMS: To check your account balance through SMS, you first need to register for this service. Type 'register' and send it to the number 7738062873 from your registered mobile number. Once registered, send a message with 'balance' to the same number, and your account balance will be instantly displayed.
3. Missed Call: Register for this service by dialing 8424054994 from your registered mobile number. Once registered, you can simply give a missed call to the same number to receive your account balance.
4. Phone Banking: Dial the toll-free number 155299 from your registered mobile number to check your account balance using phone banking. Follow the IVRS instructions after choosing your preferred language.
5. WhatsApp Banking: Save the number 88007 56000 on WhatsApp and send a 'Hi' to activate WhatsApp banking. You can then check your account balance using the menu on the chat.
6. Mobile App: Download the IPPB Mobile App and enter your account number and customer ID. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and set the MPIN. After logging in, you can check your account balance through the app.
7. QR Code: Scan the QR code displayed on the QR card of the post office to check your account balance. Upon scanning, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Verify your mobile number and complete the OVD authentication to receive the account balance on your phone.
Checking your account balance regularly is essential for several reasons, including monitoring your available funds, ensuring timely deposits of interest, and better financial planning. Additionally, you can use the funds in your post office savings account as collateral for a loan. If you prefer a collateral-free loan, consider instant personal loans from MoneyView. You can get loans ranging from Rs.5,000 to Rs.10 Lakh within 24 hours in most cases. To check your eligibility, visit our website or download the MoneyView app.
